Teens-What Freedom Means to You

Page history last edited by BEATRIZ 9 mos ago

Everyone has experienced freedom in a different way; personal and family stories are the ones that hold the most meaning. Here is the place to share those stories with the whole community.

My name is Beatriz. There was this one time I remember when I was 9 and I experienced discrimination. My family and I were going to Mexico and had to go through Missouri and we tried to stop and eat at a local restaurant. The owners would not serve us due to our nationality. My dad had to go back in and ask again if the owner would serve us because he had children in the car. The owner only let him buy 2 sandwhiches for my brother and I . To this day I still remember it.

Being big on libraries I would like to post the book: Freedom and equality of access to information: a report to the American Library Association/Commission on Freedom and Equaltiy of Access to Information by Dan M. Lacy. The subjects include: Libraries and readers, freedom of information, information services and state -- United States, and Government information -- United States.
Tinker says yes to FREEDOM!
